Bart Young found his spiritual calling and a renewed sense of purpose in October 2008. He made the life-altering decision to accept Jesus as his Lord and Savior, a choice he considers the best he ever made. Though Bart always held a belief in God, it wasn't until his mid-thirties that he truly grasped the profound meaning of accepting Jesus.
One pivotal day, during a commute to work, Bart felt spiritually adrift and in need of guidance. It was during this moment of seeking that he stumbled upon a Christian radio station. The lyrics of a song by the southern gospel quartet Legacy Five resonated deeply within him, speaking of the transformative power of grace and redemption. The experience moved him to go online and purchase the song, and on his way home, he listened to it on repeat, tears welling in his eyes. Bart longed for the spiritual connection and freedom that only his Lord and Savior could provide.
In 2022, Bart received a divine calling to become a deacon, a role he wholeheartedly embraced in service to the church that had played a pivotal role in his transformation. Having concluded a distinguished 30-year career in the broadcasting and audio-visual industry, Bart, alongside his wife Stephanie, now directs his energies toward opening a small business in Colonial Beach. Together with their family, they remain steadfast in their commitment to serving God and the church.
Bart finds solace and strength in the words of Matthew 11: 28-30 (NIV), cherishing the promise of rest for those who turn to the Lord in their weariness and burdens. His life is a testament to the transformative power of faith and the profound impact it can have on a person's journey.
